End-of-Days Idiocy

A Christian pastor in America accuses a book--not the people swayed by the book, but the book itself—of “rape, murder and terrorism,” and sentences the book to death by burning. Idolaters of the book on the other side of the world in Afghanistan react by killing people who happen to be of the same nationality or culture as the book-burner. Idiocy begets idiocy. Now multiply the idiocy by the millions of idiots throughout the world; take into account the inability of civilized governments to deal realistically with the idiocy and, thereby, aggravating it; factor in the boundless supply of high-tech weaponry available in the global market, and not even the most cheery of optimists could deny that the end-of-days as depicted in the Apocalypse, could, conceivably, be at hand.
